Introduction
You must first decide if you are investigating the Trail of Tears OR the Long Walk. These are two different events in America’s history.
Task
Write a 2 page description of either the Trail of Tears or the Long Walk. You will find information that allows you to answer the following questions. You should incorporate your answers into a narrative format. At the end of your webquest you should list the sources you used. Any quotes that you use should be accuratedly sourced to the orginal writer using MLA format.
Questions
The same questions apply to both the Trail of Tears or the Long Walk:
1. Which tribe was involved in the removal?
2. When and where did the removal occur?
3. How was the removal accomplished?
4. What were the reasons given by Whites for removing Indians from their homeland?
5. What were the consequences/outcomes of the removal for the tribe?
6. Explain whether you believe if the term ‘genocide’ is appropriate to describe the events you have examined.
